Derek Hole
The Very Rev Derek Norman Hole〔(NPG details )〕 was an eminent Anglican priest in the second half of the 20th century.
Born on 5 December 1933, he was educated at Public Central School, Plymouth and prepared for ordination at Lincoln Theological College.〔''Crockford's Clerical Directory 1975-76'' p 463 London: Oxford University Press, 1976 ISBN 0-19-200008-X〕 He began his career as Curate at St Mary Magdalen, Knighton, Leicester〔(Church web-site )〕 after which he was Domestic Chaplain to the Archbishop of Cape Town.〔Who's Who 1996 p923 London, A & C Black, 1997 ISBN 0-7136-4255-6〕 After a further curacy at St Nicholas, Kenilworth he was Rector of St Mary the Virgin, Burton Latimer.〔(History of Parish )〕 From 1973 to 1992 he was Vicar of St James the Greater, Leicester〔Century to Millennium: St James the Greater, Leicester 1899–1999, compiled by Dr A.
